Maiden Elementary is closed. Crews will soon begin demolishing the nostalgic icon. Meanwhile the new school is showing real progress!

With a mix of excitement and nostalgia, the Maiden Elementary community prepares to bid farewell to the old school building that has stood as a beacon of learning for generations. As the wrecking ball looms, we can’t help but feel a tinge of sadness, for this institution has been the backdrop to countless memories, triumphs, and formative moments in the lives of students past and present.

Yet, in the shadow of this ending, a new beginning emerges. The nearly-completed modern school facility represents a leap forward, promising state-of-the-art resources and an environment tailored to the needs of today’s students. While we may mourn the loss of the old, we must also embrace the promise of the new, recognizing that progress often requires change.

As we fondly commemorate the legacy of Maiden Elementary, let us do so with a deep appreciation for the role this institution has played in shaping our community. Many have expressed a real love of the old school, having been a staple in Maiden, where they went to school, where their children went to school and some even their grandchildren. They are sad to see it go with so many memories to cherish.
